Recently I bought DII:LoD again but it won't work on my laptop although GW will.

When I try to load it it comes up with a BSOD which says something about a memory dump; but I'm assuming this is because I need to get a patch for Vista.

Question: Did you try to get a patch for Vista BEFORE you posted this thread? If not you might want to try that first...

Otherwise, here's some things to try:

1) Run in compatability mode
2) Make sure you have DX9 installed as Vista ships with Dx10 only.
3) I haven't tried it, and I'm not sure if it's similar to your problem, but see the suggested solution here: http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/diablo-2-on-vista
4) Download the latest patches here: http://www.blizzard.com/us/patches/
5) Make 100% sure you are running your programs as administrator

Agree, tech section is the correct one in this case.

Maybe try running something like a virtual OS and install XP on it? Other than that, you asked for problems like this when you installed Vista.

I didn't install Vista, it was already on the computer. I'm going to try and get a copy of XP though.
